An alien Alliance fleeing a common enemy travels through space seeking a new home. When they reach Earth they warn humanity that the Vagar will attack Earth within a year. Earth’s leaders negotiate a deal with the Alliance. In exchange for their advanced technology, and help in fighting the Vagar, the Alliance members will be granted the right to seek mates among Earth’s females.
The Alliance agrees but reveals that although they come from many planets and each race has its own cultural beliefs and rituals they have one ritual in common. The Mating Challenge. I love Mardi Maxwell, She is one of my "go to" authors. This is a new series and I can honestly say I loved it.Wynter is desperate to get away from a horrible home life where her parents are pushing her into marrying a man who abuses women. When she hears about the aliens who are coming to Earth to find mates for their male warriors, she makes plans to get away an be on of the chosen ones.
Zaryq is the leader of the Za'Artha and when he is mated with Wynter, he begins to train her in the Mating Challenge and in submission. Will Wynter survive the Mating Challenge or will she be forced to go back to Earth with her parents?

I looted this book, I couldn't put it down.
I kept waiting for Zaryq to not be so dominant but that was what I liked about him. I loved how Wynter injected humor into any situation. And I really liked how they wanted a strong woman that could also be soft.
I suppose that I am not a fan of Dom and submissive situations.
I did finally finish the book after a very long time. Mostly read it when I was desperate for a book.
I enjoyed other books by this author, but not this one. And it wasn't free, so I paid for a book that I didn't enjoy. I will continue to read this author, but not this genre.
When Wynter went to the theater she never knew it would empower her. She learned love, and trust can go so far. The love of a warrior and his faith in you can show no matter what life brings you will succeed. Parents who are corrupt don't help either. "Love of an aunt who was a treasure beyond belief!! Must read!
I enjoy the relationship between the hero. A romantic sci-Fiji with villains, not too many of them, they were quickly dispatched. The challenges were interesting. My wish would be that they were a bit longer. The novel could have been longer too. But in all, an enjoyable read.
Winter escaped the forced marriage her parents wanted by volunteering to become the mate of an Alien. Lessons to prepare for the physical challenges and to offer her complete submission to her chosen mate follow. I love sci-fi and BDSM. This was a combination and a great love story as well.
I absolutely loved Wynter's Warrior. Mardi Maxwell has done it again with giving us a phenomenal read.
I swear it had me wrapped around the story from the start. Its been awhile since I have been so engulfed into a book.
This is a story that will keep you wanting more and you will be beginning for more.
